      notes

Both George and his daughter Harriet died within a few years of each other.
During this time the local vicar places a comment in the margin of the parish register at the church in Kimcote, to the effect that, a large number of deaths had been recorded due to Typhoid.

It has been said that there were a number of unusually hot summers during those years, and that it is more than likely the disease came from the common village pump, which often caused problems throughout its use.

Nothing further is known of Mary Cobley (nee Webb), it is quite probable she remarried.
